Garmin International and Gorilla GPS are pleased to announce the Garmin GVN 52, a "black-box" GPS
navigation system. This remote GPS sensor is designed to be integrated with vehicle audio/video
entertainment systems, allowing a factory or aftermarket onboard screen to function much like a
StreetPilot car navigation system.
Users can look up and route directly to specific addresses or points of interest - such as restaurants,
hotels, gas stations, retail shops or ATMs - while viewing their exact location on an electronic moving
map. A unique "spoken text" voice prompt capability can be used to identify turns by street name. These
turn-by-turn voice cues can be amplified through the car audio system's speakers, with map graphics
shown through the vehicle's video display. The unit comes preloaded with detailed street mapping for all
of North America.
The GVN 52 is operated by the included RF remote control. When the GVN 52 is connected to a
touchscreen display, the included RF remote control is still required for unit operation. Touching the
display screen will not operate the features of the GVN 52.
